Hosts since 1957
In the beginning, the three brothers Theodor, Gerhard and Manfred Krings built the first small tow-lift by the Gruenwaldsee lake in the Obertauern ski area. That was in 1957.
The Krings family has grown just as quickly as the business itself over the past 60 years. Today, we own several chair lifts, as well as the Kringsalm and Hochalm restaurants, the Appartementhaus Christophorus and the exclusive Seekarhaus 5-star ski hotel. Additionally, the Krings family looks after its agricultural land in Untertauern and their alpine farming grounds in Obertauern. In building this successful family business, the Krings family has exhibited a high degree of personal dedication, strong family ties and visionary risk-taking.
